TVN Corp announcement re shares placement at 0.02 c

So for those who hold TVN, there is now an opportunity to get more shares at .02c. This is to help fund the aquisition of the mongolian thermal coal project. see below.

"TVN Corporation has placed 76 million shares at USD 0.02 to raise USD 1.52 million to fund the 100% acquisition of the Nuurst Thermal Coal Project in Mongolia.

The acquisition though is still subject to completion of due diligence and shareholder approval.

Nuurst has an exploration target of 50 million tonnes to 100 million tonnes of thermal coal with a calorific value range Qdaf 6200 to 6800 kilocalories per kilogram.

What is so fascinating about exploration and geological understanding in Mongolia is the lack of it with estimation that only three quarters of the country has been mapped to a scale of 1:200,000.

The underdeveloped and general lack of infrastructure in the country won't present much of a problem for TVN Corporation at this exploration stage.

The best part for the junior coal explorers in Mongolia is the country location next to China, offering potential funds for infrastructure and development support should a sizeable coal resource be discovered.

Boosting the coal possibilities even higher for Mongolian focused companies, the country has coal reserves estimated at over 150 billion tonnes".

here's something interesting

Carbon Tax Will Cost JobsCategories: Sundry
Back in April I posted about an article that alluded to the possibility of the carbon tax actually leading to the increase of pollution as heavy carbon emitting industries pack up and move offshore. Not only that – a significant number of Australian jobs will be lost as well!

Those who support the carbon tax have preached about the new economy and how the tax will lead to job creation and new opportunities. This sort of talk is just that – talk! The reality will most likely be that entire sectors of industry will fold up their operations and move offshore. With that will go thousands of jobs.

At the beginning of this week, supporters of a carbon emissions tax were heralding the news of a substantial increase in carbon reduction targets from Britain. But then just a few days later, the consequences of that decision became clear with one of the world’s largest steel produces Tata Steel deciding to cut 1,500 in Britain.

This article from The Australian reports on the development and to quote from it;

Karl-Ulrich Kohler, Tata Steel’s head of Europe, blamed the cuts on the decline of the construction industry, but added that new EU environmental laws and planned British legislation had compounded the company’s problems.

“Europe’s steel industry is in danger of being made uncompetitive in the world market because of European taxes on UK emissions,” said Dr Kohler.

“But here in Britain we are facing a double whammy of carbon targets.”

Under the coalition deal, the government plans to bring in the toughest carbon emissions targets in the world by 2027. The EU has already said that member states must slash emissions, but Britain will go farther and cut them by 80 per cent by 2050.

Godfrey Bloom, the UKIP MEP in whose Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire constituency the Scunthorpe cuts will fall, said the “misguided” carbon legislation had made “a bad commercial situation far, far worse”.

He added: “Certain extra costs and additional targets are clearly undermining business confidence. The result, as we see, is lost jobs.”

We are seeing the very same message from sectors of Australian industry – warning of the dire consequences.

tips

GDA (Gondwana gold) is rising and is now about 6 cents. I bought it at .017 cents. Many of the small resource stocks are improving, but ABY is about 1.60. Even at 1.60 it is cheap and could rise to over 4.50. (it has in the past) . goto www.asx.com.au type in ABY (or GDA etc) and have a look. Go to charts and select 5 years and you will see their charted price history.
I purchased ABY in march 09 when they were only 11 cents because this company is well managed, and has paid a dividend before.
I, like most people, regret not buying more, but the market was so volatile and at its lowest, everyone had the jitters.
I've made some modest profits lately, albeit on a very small porfolio, but "little fish are sweet" as my father used to say.
I suggest you go to http://crazyjimsmith.blospot.com and consider joining the forum.
It costs $200.00 a year, but the members post tips and information. You get access to multiple views of what's happening and if you don't go into debt, and keep your cool, you could make some profits. Then you can buy things.

The new year 2008

Happy new and prosperous year 2008!
Mega here, sorry I haven't written on this blog for a while. I've been too busy. I took on a horror of a consulting project, and wasted half a life, working for someone else when I could have been buying and selling on the stock market, writing at my own leisure, in my own home office.
No travel, No traffic, No boss breathing down my neck. It's the best business I've found.

Now I'm back doing what I enjoy! That is the way to go in 2008. Do what you enjoy, then turn that hobby into a business. Accept a challenge and ALWAYS do your best. Aim small and grow!

The year ahead on the stock market.

My prediction is that the first half of 2008 will be in recession with a depression looming like a black cloud. Already most of your stocks will be a sea of red. the last 5 days 7-11th January 2008, the stock market in Australia has fallen between 12-15%, BUT never mind. Take small profits where you can, sell half where possible, hang on to good investments, and BUY new ones.YES! BUY! This is a time of opportunity. When the sky falls , all stocks fall. good and bad. You just have to go through the pile carefully.I'll show you how.

go to my rule book on my http://www.megamoneybox.com/ investment/Megamoneybox rule book. Mega's rule 1. Don't lose money, so hang on. If you hadn't invested money you didn't have, you can afford to wait for the market to improve.
In the meantime buy some spec stocks on the rise and sell as soon as they rise by 25%. Yes, take profits at 25%. This will happen even in a downturn.
You can still make modest profits and can build up your portfolio.

We would all like 1000 % profit, but greed and fear are our enemies. So plan for a modest return. If you buy 20,000 at 0.02 cents , you can sell half (or a quarter ) at 25% profit, then sell half again at 50% profit, keeping the balance of 5,000 as free - pure profit.

Invest $500.00-$1,000.oo and buy and sell stocks UNDER TEN CENTS.Stocks like GDA, PRE, GPN, RCH, MHL, EXM.go to the http://www.asx.com.au/ web page, type in these codes and look at company research. create a watch list and see how they perform. Expect some ups and downs..because volatility is rampant. Big super funds and raiders are pushing up the price, exiting and the price lowers. so be warned.Since the 1.1.08 to 11.1.08 Megamoneybox has taken profits of $2015.50 i.e. $200.00 dollars a day!

We think that is good, especially since we only started in August with $5,000.00 and a few stocks. We've changed our portfolio, have turned our investment over 1.5 times, and at 4.1.08 we had 500,000 shares. We've now sold another 80,000. (We did cause ourselves some losses and also had too many fees due to small parcels - but we've recouped the losses and are in NET Profit).

I should add that we made 23% gross profit between Aug 15th and Dec 29th 2007. ) I want to BOAST (I know I shouldn't)- BUT I have to tell you that the average price of each share for the period was ONLY .056 cents. LESS than 6 cents! Even though we still have some ADY and SDL which we bought at .475 and .82 respectively. SO IT CAN BE DONE.

Both of those are in loss at the moment so we are keeping them. That's why I like 10cent shares best. There is more volume for less outlay.

If you want to learn how to pick ten cent stocks you will have to sign up and pay $52.00 a year for our email newsletter and tips. email me at sampsms@ozemail.com.au
Cheers! here's to a prosperous year.

Investing in stocks can be injurious to your health if you are a worrier , a gambler, or of a nervous disposition. The stock market can fall and you can lose all your money. Do not gamble or use borrowed money. Do your own research. Only you know what is best for you.

tip of the Day

RMA - Reeltime -You have to persist..and persist and persist. .
we watched this on a Sunday on Auntie, and tried to buy. Then the director shot himself in the foot and bought 35000 at 0.15c shares and it seems he didn't put in asx appropriate notification form.
so trading halted. then we tried again. unsuccessful. trading was halted due to a EGM. We watched the notices then forgot. By the time we got back to RMA, it had risen to 0.28 c (up nearly 95%) so we then managed a buy of 22000 at 0.028 =- 500 odd dollars.
Now they have another announcement. They have 28th September, 2007 "ASX Release
ReelTime.tv acquires
XPMediacentre.com.au community forum
ReelTime Media Ltd is pleased to announce that it has acquired the website
www.XPMediacentre.com.au in exchange for ReelTime shares and options as follows" go have a look.
